News: all updates for our software and apps
Wow, it looks like you all love our new Connect Sync & Share service!
It went live 3 weeks ago and since then 5,273 PRO users have already activated their free Sync & Share subscriptions!

Book Collector 8 for Mac is here!
On March 6, we released the major v8 upgrade of Book Collector for Mac. Completely rewritten *from scratch*, with a faster database system,
a more Mac-like user interface and of course, many new features:
- Add Books Automatically: Faster, Better and More data (inc. back covers!).
- New: Find Cover Image screen, find missing covers online using Google Images.
- Re-Designed Loan Manager screen, with scanner support.
- New: Support for Author Pseudonyms / Pen Names.
- New: Cover Flow view, browse your book covers in a cool looking 3D cover flow.
- New: Collection Statistics (pie and bar charts) integrated in main screen.
- Improved Wish List functionality (In Collection / Wish List tabs).
- and much more!
BIG updates for the Mac editions of Movie Collector and Comic Collector
After the big Book Collector 8 Mac release, our Mac dev team (Ronald, Patrick and Bernard) immediately went on to create nice updates for the Movie Collector and Comic Collector Mac editions.
During the work on Book Collector, they had optimized (and fixed) many parts of our Mac “framework” and of course they created the new Loan Manager screen. So we wanted to bring all of that to the movie and comic editions ASAP.
And while they were at it, Ronald also implemented the often requested Field Names features, so that you can set your own names for the User Defined
fields, plus change the names of all other fields to your own liking.
So in the past few days, we were able to release very nice (and free) updates for both Movie Collector and Comic Collector for Mac. Here’s what’s new:
- New: Re-designed Loan Manager screen
- The return of the Field Names screen.
- Easily edit pick list items by right clicking their tree folders.
- Improved remembering of selected items in main screen.
- Easier switching between main screen layouts
- plus many many small fixes ….
If you own either Comic Collector 5 for Mac or Movie Collector 8 for Mac, just use the Check for Updates feature to get the new version.
Coming up: Music Collector 10 for Windows *and* Mac OS X
Now, with all that out of the way, we have started on the new big project:
* Music Collector v10, for Windows *and* Mac OS X !
V10 will finally bring Music Collector up-to-date with all the new stuff we introduce to the Windows and Mac editions of our other programs, like:
- Cover Flow view
- Backdrop support
- Re-Designed Loan Manager
- Support for Box Sets
- etc…
Patrick will create the Mac edition, while Ronald works on the Windows edition. We hope to release both near the end of May (yes, May 2012).
CLZ Comics v2 for iOS is getting closer
Lots of Mac, Windows and online stuff going on, but let’s not forget the major mobile project that Pim and AJ are still working on :
* v2 updates of all iOS apps to bring adding, editing, barcode scanning capabilities and 2-way syncing with the desktop editions.
As you know, we started on CLZ Comics and we’re now getting close to its release. We’re now aiming to release CLZ Comics v2 for iOS in May.
