Past Marvel EIC's?

Post by The Shadow » Tue Jan 18, 2011 1:06 am

Does anyone know a site that lists the years and issues of Marvel's former EIC's from Martin Goodman at the start of Timely to Alonso now in 2011? Or at the very least dates (years and months) when they became EIC so I can at least get it within a month? :?:

There are a few older issues I have that don't list the EIC's and I'm trying to get it right.

Thanks in advance.

In my collection, Marvel: The Lost Generation #3, I have this note "Bob Harras is also listed as editor-in-chief on the letters page, while Joe Quesada is listed on the splash page."

Release Date is 10/25/2000 and Publication Date is 12/2000.

Don't know if this helps.....

So that must be when Quesada stepped up and Harris went out.

Thanks!

Specifically: Bob Harras kept the X-Men book, Mark Gruenwald got Marvel Heroes, Bob Budiansky got Spider-Man, Carl Potts got the Licensed Books and Alternaverse books (books that fell in the cracks), and Bobbie Chase got “Marvel Edge.” (via: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.co ... evealed-9/)

....but still no specific dates....

Thanks for that link!

In fact, as I was reading a bunch more I found this: "In August of 2000, Bob Harras was replaced as Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics by Joe Quesada." http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.co ... evealed-3/

So there's one definite date!

You might want to update the Wiki with specific dates and link the sources. I'm sure others would be interested in specific dates so you may as well share the info.

I was just adding barcodes to my Ms. Marvel Volume 1 series and Ms Marvel #12 from Dec 1977 lists Archie Goodwin as EIC and #13 from January 1978 lists Jim Shooter.

This has been updated in bold in post 1.

You've listed Goodwin as being EIC until December 1978 and Shooter from January 1979. Based on what you write here shouldn't that be December 1977 and January 1978?
