Here at Collectorz.com we are always busy, working to improve our software. As too for Movie Collector. On a regular basis we release a new (better) version. Don’t miss out!
You can have Movie Collector check for updates automatically, or you can check for them manually.
Automatically check for updates
Movie Collector checks for updates automatically once a week. You can change the frequency of this check in the Options screen. To do this click on menu:
Windows users: “Tools > Options” and then find the “Check for Software Updates” in the left hand panel.
Mac OS X users: “Movie Collector > Preferences” and then click on the “Update” tab at the top.
Movie Collector can check for updates at start up (Always/Daily), Weekly, Monthly or not at all.
Manually check for updates
To make the program check for an update “right now”, click on menu:
Windows users: “Help > Check for Update…”
Mac OS X users: “Movie Collector > Check for Updates…”
- When your version is the same as the latest: your Movie Collector is up to date.
- When your version is lower than the latest: you can opt to click the “Update Now” button to download and install the latest version.
What is an Update Plan?
An Update Plan is a subscription for getting updates for the Windows and Mac editions.
The licenses for our Windows/Mac software are forever, you can keep using the software for as long as you want, no subscription needed. Also, every purchased license comes with a free 1-year Update Plan, which entitles you to update your software to any new versions released in that year.
If, after that year, you want to keep receiving software updates, you can optionally renew your Update Plan, either by paying a fixed one-time payment (e.g. US$ 6.95 for 3 months / US $24.95 for a year) or by subscribing to our monthly automatic renewals (US $2.50/month).
In any case, your license will stay valid forever and you software will stay fully functional, even after your Update Plan has expired.
