If you're having troubles with your software, please do not use the forum to report them. Check it out:Search the FAQ and MANUAL!
The Collectorz.com FAQs, manuals and forums are a great resource with a lot of information!
In the past few months, Chris, Syts, Alwin and I have implemented many improvements to the support information that is available on our website. We made sure that almost all questions we get from customers are answered either on the product home pages, in the manual or in the FAQ.
You can find a lot of information in our FAQs and Manuals by going to the regular support page:
If you can't find your answer there, you can always still search the forum
as well:Search the Forums
Spending that little extra time searching the FAQs, manuals and forums is very likely to give you your answer within a few minutes. Whereas if you ask your question using the support-form or through a new topic on the forum, waiting for our answer by could take up to 24 hours. Easy choice isn't it?Don't post here, CONTACT us via E-Mail
If your question isn't answered in our FAQ, Manual or somewhere on the forum, you can contact us directly.
Just search the FAQ (like you did) and use the contact link that is provided at the bottom of the page (in the search results).
Please do not use this forum for support questions
that require an answer from the Collectorz.com team. Just use the contact link to send us an e-mail 1. Use a descriptive subject title in your e-mail
Don't say "Help!!????" or "It doesn't work!!??!?????" - but be descriptive.
A good title helps us get the right people to you a lot faster. It also increases the chances of getting an early and good answer to you. 2. Provide as many details as possible in your e-mail
This may go without saying, but we really don't know if you own a PC or a Mac. There's more stuff we don't know automatically.
Things we'd like you to include in your support e-mail:
- Did you search the FAQ and manuals? Did you find anything?
- Operating System (Windows? Mac?), and the version (Vista? OSX 10.5?).
- Version of your software (for instance: Music Collector 9.3 build 1).
- Type and version of your Internet browser (for instance: Mozilla Firefox 3.6.15).
- A detailed problem description (again, not just "HELP?!!!").
- Step-by-step instructions on how we can reproduce the problem.
- The exact text of any error messages you are getting.
In the description of the problem, you can include information as to:
- What do I expect to happen?
- What actually DOES happen? So, what is this forum for?
For discussion. Discussion about the software, discussion about new features and improvements to existing features. Talks about your favorite books, movies, comics, CDs, etc.
The forum is also a place where you can contact our content managers (through the database forums) about the submissions you have made to our database with corrections, should you feel the need to do so
We hope that with the information provided in this sticky we can spend less time doing support on the forum, and more time on making our FAQs and manuals better.
Most importantly, we hope it gives all of you a more fun experience on the forum by discussing the software or your databases, instead of answering the same questions over and over again.
