Having an issue getting notes to format right in both the local program and the online connect version. I'll show you what I mean. In my local copy, I inserted the text from an existing review I wrote elsewhere, and it looks like this in the editor:



When I see it in the program (not editing), it looks fine.



However, when I upload that to Muc, it looks like this:



All the paragraphs are lost. I managed to get it to look right online by inserting some HTML into the description, but then it makes it look wrong on the local copy. How can I get around this and make the text look right on both sides at once?

This could be an issue for me, as I have reviews for just about everything I wrote, and they are just about all multi-paragraph.

I also feel sort of stuck now that I bought the program, the export to HTML option is gone. It was there in the trial, but once I activated, that option isn't there anymore, and on the HTML export it formatted fine, too.

To get the paragraphs to format in Connect you'd need to add html. This shouldn't cause any problems in your local database, the information displayed in the template works with html so any that you add should be shown in the template.

The export to HTML option is a Pro only feature.

Here's how you can upgrade to the PRO edition:

* Start your Standard edition program
* Choose 'Help' > 'Your License Info' from the menu
* In the screen that appears, click the Buy Pro Upgrade button.
* Place your order in our shop.
* After you have received your new key, go to 'Help' > 'Your License Info' again.
* Click the Clear button.
* Now enter your new license name and key and click Check

The cost for upgrading from Standard to PRO is just the difference in price between the two.

It did when i tried it. I had too much blank space on my local copy. Ill grab a screenshot tomorrow.

Did you perhaps leave the spaces as well as add the HTML?

While we were investigating the problem you had with syncing your albums we found a bug. It's the reason you are asked to upload the same albums each time, and it's also why the formatting doesn't appear correctly in Connect.

To correct what I'd said earlier, you don't have to add HTML to get the spaces to appear in Connect, you can just upload the notes and it should appear formatted as it does in the desktop software, but due to this bug, that doesn't happen at the moment.

This will be fixed in the next build of Music Collector.

Whee! New user finds an immediate bug! Thanks for the update, I'll wait on the next version. I'm guessing if it's collector related, it won't require new software on my end, right?

The next "build of MuC" will require an update installation on your local PC.
You can check for updates locally (without looking into the forum) using the menu entry under the help main menu. There is although a check-mark in the preferences for automatically checking for updates.
Usually, new builds don't require a new licenses. And new builds should always be installed, because of bug fixes and some improvements (Well, sometimes some people prefer to stay at the older revision because of these improvements, but I suggest to move further on ).

Any idea when I'll see this? I've now gone through my entire collection - finally finished yesterday. With about 800 entries, I'd like to get this fix in there. Danke.

We expect to release a new version of Music Collector this week that will fix this.
