I have installed Windows 7 on my laptop and desktop pc. I launch Movie Collector in Media Center, choose a movie, it then goes to that movie's information screen...if Media Center is in full screen mode, the "Play Movie" button doesn't act like a button at all (you can't click on it). However, if Media Center isn't in full screen mode it works fine. This was a big enough issue to cause me to restore my PC to Vista, but I was wondering if you were aware of this issue and had a fix for it. This is happening on both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows 7.

It's always best to use a remote control with Media Center. If you do not have a remote I recommend you go to the Play button with the right arrow key on your keyboard then press the enter key to play the movie.

If you are using a remote just find a movie, go to the detail page, navigate to the "Play Movie" button, then press the OK or Enter button on the remote to start the movie. If you decide you want to watch a different movie just press the back button on the remote which will bring you back to the MCE Viewer. Once you find another movie to watch pressing the "Play Movie" button will stop the movie currently playing then start the new movie.

I have no need for a remote when I'm sitting at my PC. I'll try the things you suggested on my laptop when I get home, but it doesn't change the fact that it's an abnormality compared to the way it functioned in Vista and it should probably be addressed. I noticed that right away, I wonder how many other issues there may be if I were to spend more time testing it.

There was also no need to point out that there was no need for me to say that...but you did it anyway. My point wasn't that there is bound to be something wrong with the program, my point was that issues should be addressed and fixed even if there are workarounds. There may be 100 ways of doing something and no 1 is more right than the other, but if a user is used to using a program a particular way and suddenly it's not working then it needs attention because it could be a sign of things to come.

I agree with you completely as I now have the same problem when I upgraded to Windows 7. However, the authors of Movie Collector have always been responsive to any problem there may be.

Still a great program!

You can use keyboard arrows if you don't have a remote.

I have the same issue ever since I upgraded to Windows 7. The play button don't work (it's faded)
