The New Avengers is a great new series by Marvel Comics i have been reading. it just keeps getting better & better with each issue. other comics worth checking out are.

The Walking Dead by Image
Astonishing X-Men by Marvel Comics
Conan by Dark horse
Darkstalkers by Udon
Fables by DC Comics
Y the last Man by DC

these are a few of my favorites if anybody wants to add any or review a new comic that would be great.

Just finished reading "Countdown: Arena" from DC Comics.....what a mess that was. It had a lot of potential to be a well drawn book and it fell flat. They had Scott McDaniel do the art. I haven't seen his work in a long time, I think the last time was Daredevil way back when. But after seeing the mess in this series, I'm definitely not a fan. The story really was kind of thrown together too. I more or less breezed through the series, it just couldn't hold my attention.

What did you think? I liked it. How does this compare to Lone Ranger? I missed that one and regret it.

I think Zorro is heads and shoulders above The Lone Ranger. Matt Wagner is a great writer and the art was terrific. The page layouts were dynamic. Hopefully this book will have a long run.

The Lone Ranger is a decent story, but not worth the cover price because of the art. It looks nice, but there seems to be only 2 different designs for a page -- splash or 3 to 4 horizontal panels. On the paneled pages, the panels are often replicated with a slight difference. That's it. It's extremely dull. Plus, there is minimal dialogue, so you can breeze thru an issue in about 2 minutes. The artist definitely has talent, but his design sense needs to developed. I'm not exactly sure what John Cassaday's job as art director is, but someone needs reevaluate the page design.

I'm looking forward to "The Man With No Name" by Christos Gage. I really hope the art design is much closer to Zorro than Lone Ranger.

I enjoyed it a lot. Cant' wait for issue #2. I think it has the potential to be better than the Lone Ranger, although I do enjoy Lone Ranger as well.

My girlfriend and I have been keeping up with The Sword (another great story by the Luna Brothers) pretty regularly. The Halo comics, but apparently they have trouble publishing those on time.

We just got the new Dark Tower series comics, but haven't read them yet, maybe this weekend.

I've been thinking about tackling my Star Trek: The Next Generation comic books pretty soon. I'll probably review those as I go!
