I have transferred my cdplayer.ini file from XP to the Win7 Windows directory.
When I try to export to it, it first says that it's performed the action and then says " File Access Denied"
Thinking it may have been a permissions problem I then took ownership (I am the Administrator) of the Windows Directory.
It still won't work. Is there a problem with this? Do you have a workaround? As I use cdplayer quite a bit. Or is it that Win 7 does not use cdplayer.ini?
HELP pls.

Ah, I got it working, just had to enable read write permissions on the cdplayer.ini file itself.

I now need to find a cd player that reads from Gracenote and works on Win 7, any suggestions?
Needs to be a small program just working in the background and able to write to cdplayer.ini.
On XP I justed used one called "Player" this does not seem to work with Gracenote on Win 7 however.

Download a free trial of CoolCD Studio, Geoff and give it a burl - it's NOT free, but it doesn't cost much and is very nice (and CDDB compatibile, at least in XP). If it doesn't work in Windows 7 either then we'll both know!

have you tried right-clicking on the .exe file and selecting compatibility mode - see if it runs in XP mode?

Thanks Maft, that did the trick....I keep forgetting that trick. I really like "Player" it does just what I want without the bloat of some of the others.
I'm also running Cool Edit (forerunner to when Adobe took it over) it's working but the wave form when recording is a bit shaky, tried compatibility but didn't help. I hope I won't have to buy a win 7 equivalent. I'm using 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, i'm thinking that could be causing it?
The other problem the drivers for my Behringer uSB sound card don't seem to work under Win 7, haven't solved that yet.....there's a lot of little things to bed down when you change from an OS you've used for years, I guess it's progress but can be frustrating...thanks again
