Custom Views

With Photo Collector you can decide how everything will be displayed. You can change the layout, download custom templates or create your own. You can also create custom views and save these view, so you can activate them with a few clicks.

Column Field Selection

You have probably played with adding, moving and removing columns in the main view of Photo Collector to fit your needs. But sometimes, you might want a different set of columns and don't feel like moving and adjusting them about. Photo Collector lets you save different sets of columns.

Please note: The full Columns feature is only available in the PRO version of Photo Collector. In the Standard version, you can only choose from a few preset column selections.

The screenshot above shows you the view you might have seen before, when adding (or removing) columns from the main view. Just check the boxes next to the Column Fields to show (unshow) them.

In here you can:
Add Field Set, Duplicate Field Set, Rename Field Set and Delete Field Set. Pretty much self-explanatory, but here goes anyway.

  • Add Field Set
To add a Field Set, click the Add Field Set button, type a name for the Field Set and check the boxes next to the fields (columns) you want Photo Collector to display. Do this for any new set of Fields.

Windows: Use the yellow folder button with the star (1st button)
    Mac: Use the plus button.

You can easily drag and drop the different Fields in the desired order. Do this here, so you won't have to do it once you're back in the Main View. Photo Collector remembers not only the Fields, but also the order.

  • Duplicate Field Set
When you want a new set, that has exactly the same fields as another set, just select the Saved Field Set you want to Duplicate and edit, and click the Duplicate Field Set button.

Windows: Use the yellow folder button with 2 folders (2nd button)
    Mac: Use the third button.

Rename it and voilĂ . There you go. Now, just perform the little changes needed and you're done.

  • Rename Field Set
Windows: Use the yellow folder button with ABC (3rd button)
Mac: Just double click the saved field set name.

  • Delete Field Set
To delete a saved field set, select the set and hit the delete button.

Windows: Use the yellow folder button with the red cross (4th button)
    Mac: Use the minus button.

These custom Field Sets can now be activated from the menus, by simply clicking:
View > Columns > ....

Folder Field Selection

Too create a few different Field Sets for your folders, just follow the next few steps.

Please note: The full Folders feature is only available in the PRO version of Photo Collector. In the Standard version, you can only choose from a few preset folders.

With Folders, you can display your collection sorted by the Fields you choose. Within these folders, you can create a subfolder, and in those subfolders... you guessed right. Possibilities are unlimited. Read more on the use of Folders in the Using Folders section.

The screenshot above shows you the view you might have seen before, when entering Folder View. Just select the boxes next to the Folder Fields to show (unshow) them.
