News: Major upgrade of Comic Collector
On January 3rd we have released a major upgrade of Comic Collector: version 4.A short summary of the new features:
- New fields: Crossover, Story-Arc and Imprint, all three automatically downloaded from our online database. New creator role Cover Painter, new "On Order" value for In Collection Status. Add Interior Art images using the new Links tab page.
- Add Automatically screen: Improved layout, plus new Favorites tab for bookmarking your favorite series.
- Improved look: New toolbar icons, new templates for main screen, Add Automatically, printing and exporting, improved layout of Edit Comic screen.
- And much more: Better search features, save filters/columns/sort orders, new Help file, etc..
Request: Submit your data to us
In our November newsletter we have asked you to submit your data to our online databases for DVDs, CDs, comics and games. The response was huge and we have received and processed literally thousands and thousands of very useful submissions. Thanks!Haven't submitted your data yet? Please do so, as it helps to enhance the existing data quality (and quantity).
Submitting your database is easy, just select all items in your database, then use the Submit command in the Edit menu. Thanks in advance for your help.
You can check the number of pending submissions on the Connect pages, under Database Statistics in the top right. Processed submissions are visible in the Daily Database Updates, here you can check for yourself what happened to your submissions.

The Big Question: How do I add the year 2008 to my lists?
Our support was doing overtime at the start of 2008 with a returning question: How do I add 2008 to my year list? We saw this question coming in by the dozen, often enough phrased as 'When will you guys add the year 2008 to the software?'The Collectorz.com software is flexible: you can populate your own lists, including the year list. If the year 2008 is not showing in the Year drop down, just type '2008' in the box. It will be added to the year list automatically.
Alternatively, choose Edit Lists from the Tools menu. Click on the yellow folder on the left of the screen, and select the Year list from the Main submenu. You can add 2008 to the list here. While you're there, you may want to look at the other Lists. If you want to add new Genres, Authors, Artists and other often returning values to your lists, this is the place to do so.
Lists save you a lot of typing: once a value has been entered, you can just select it instead of re-typing it every time.
Top Tip: Most popular in 2007
At the end of a year or the beginning of a new one, you can't ignore 'The Best Of' or 'The Most Popular' [insert subject here] of the previous year. We couldn't resist either and we have posted Top 10s of the most requested movies, CDs, comic series and games of 2007.- The Comic Series Top 10 of 2007.
