Adding Lyrics Files
With Music Collector you can easily add lyric files to your songs. You can attach a text file, containing the lyrics to a song. You can even create the text file right from Music Collector and save it to your computer.
Adding an existing Lyrics File
Adding a lyrics file is east and fast. Follow these steps to add a lyrics file from your computer to one of the tracks on your album.
- Open Music Collector
- Select an album
- Right click and select: Edit Album.. (or, when selected, click: Edit > Edit Album)
- In the Edit Album screen, click the Tracks tab, select the track and click the Edit Track button (the musical notes one with the pencil) or right-click and select Edit
- In the Edit Track screen, hit the browse button, locate your Lyrics File and click Open. You will see the lyrics displayed immediately. Click OK to close the Edit Track screen, or click the Next/Previous buttons to add more Lyrics Files.
Creating a new Lyrics File
With Music Collector, you can also create a lyrics file very fast, by pasting a song text your copied directly into a new Lyrics File and add it to the track.
There are many websites offering uncountable amounts of lyrics. When looking for lyrics, just type the song title in Google and add "Lyrics". You will get many results.
When you've found the lyrics you were looking for, select the text and hit CTRL+C to copy the text to your clipboard. Now, let's create a new Lyrics File and add it to the next track of our album!
- In the Edit Track screen, click the Create button.
- It will open a standard Save As window. Standard, Music Collector names the Lyric File: Artist_SONG TITLE.txt. Feel free to change it, of course. After clicking Save, Notepad opens.
- Press CTRL+V to paste the copied lyrics into Notepad and click: File > Save and then close Notepad.
- When back in the Edit Track screen, click the Refresh button to see your changes.
- In the Edit Track screen, hit the browse button, locate your Lyrics File and click Open. You will see the lyrics displayed immediately. Click OK to close the Edit Track screen, or click the Next/Previous buttons to add more Lyrics Files.
