Using Folders
Folders are cool. Really, they are. With Folders you can view your collection, sorted by, for example, Genre. Or by Year. Or by Format (DVD or Blu-Ray). But that's not all! You can also make Folders within other Folders. For example, you want to view your collection by Genre. But then, you also want to view, per Genre, the different Formats you have. And then, to top it off, sort by Release Year.
Sounds pretty sweet, huh? It is. And easy, too.
Please note: This feature is only available in the PRO version of Music Collector.
First, select the fields you want to sort on. Let's say, in this example: Genre, Format and then Release Year.
Click: View > Folders > Choose Folder Fields
In the screen that opens, choose your Folders Fields (tick the corresponding boxes and untick any other boxes).
Important to know, is that the order of the fields, is important. You can click-hold-drag the field names up and down. In this example, Artist should be first, then Label and then Genre.
There you have it! Your own set of Folders!
The little arrows to the left of the folders, open/close a folder and show it's contents. In our example, the Artist folder contains the Label folder and the Label folder contains the Genre Folder.
As you will see, when you start using folders, is that we have already included a couple of Folder Field sets for you to choose from: View > Folders. You can create/edit/delete any Folder set, to fully customize the way you view your collection.
To disable Folder View, just click: View > Folders > No Folders
