Column Field Selection

You have probably played with adding, moving and removing columns in the main view of Movie Collector to fit your needs. But sometimes, you might want a different set of columns and don't feel like moving and adjusting them about. No need! Movie Collector let's you save many different sets of columns.

Please note: The saving column field sets is only available in the PRO version of Movie Collector.

The screenshot above shows you the view you might have seen before, when adding (or removing) columns from the main view. Just check the boxes next to the Column Fields to show (unshow) them.

On the right, under Saved Field Sets, you see four buttons. From Left to Right: Add Field Set, Duplicate Field Set, Rename Field Set and Delete Field Set. Pretty much self-explanatory, but here goes anyway.

  • Add Field Set
To add a Field Set, click the Add Field Set button, type a name for the Field Set and check the boxes next to the fields (columns) you want Movie Collector to display. Do this for any new set of Fields.

In the left pane, you can easily drag and drop the different Fields in the desired order. Do this here, so you won't have to do it once you're back in the Main View. Movie Collector remembers not only the Fields, but also the order!

  • Duplicate Field Set
When you want a new set, that has pretty much the same fields as another set, you don't need to reinvent the wheel, just select the Saved Field Set you want to Duplicate and edit, and click the Duplicate Field Set. Name it and voilĂ . There you go. Now, just perform the little changes needed and you have just made yourself a new Field Set!

  • Rename Field Set
I did say it was pretty much self-explanatory, right? Well, this button allows you to change the name of a Saved Field Set. Select the Field Set, click this button and rename the set.

  • Delete Field Set
Well, yes. Delete. It removes a Saved Field Set. Select the field set and click this button.

These custom Field Sets can now be activated from the menus, by simply clicking:
