Synchronize with Connect

You can synchronize your complete Movie collection online with Movie Collector Connect. This is a subscription based online cataloging tool that you can use as a stand alone feature, or in sync with the Movie Collector software. You can upload and download your collection to and from Movie Collector Connect with any computer, Mac or Windows, anywhere in the world, anytime.

To synchronize with your current installed software, all you need is a Movie Collector Connect account which you can get right here. Small note: If you already have a Connect account for one of our other pieces of software, simply log in, and from within your Connect account sign up for Movie Collector Connect.

Of course you do have to make sure you're running the latest version of Movie Collector by clicking "Help > Check for Update".

Upload your collection to Movie Collector Connect

Like most things Collectorz.com, uploading your collection to Movie Collector Connect is also very easy.

1. Click on "Connect > Synchronize"
   Tip: You can also use the corresponding Synchronize button on your toolbar.
2. Movie Collector may ask you to link unlinked movies in your collection. Select "Yes" if it does. More about linking your movies here.
3. The Synchronize Screen pops up. Fill in your Connect User Name and Password.
4. Now click "Upload to Connect".
5. Done!

Now you have to tell Movie Collector which changes to your online account you'd like to process. The intended changes are showed in that screen, and automatically checked. If you see a change you don't want online, just uncheck the box.

• Green: Add. This movie will be added to your online collection account.
• Orange: Change. This movie will be changed in your collection (because you apparently changed some data of it in your offline collection).
• Red: Remove. This movie will be removed from your online collection.

Don't want some of these changes happening to your online account? Simply uncheck the box in front of the change. Don't want any of the 'Removals', 'Additions' or 'Updates'? Uncheck the corresponding box on the right of this screen. The intended changes are automatically checked.

Click "Upload to Connect" to make the changes final on your online account.

Download your collection from Movie Collector Connect

Downloading your collection back from Connect works almost the same as uploading to Connect.

1. Click on "Connect > Synchronize"
   Tip: You can also use the corresponding Synchronize button on your toolbar.
2. Movie Collector may ask you to link unlinked movies in your collection. Select "Yes" if it does. More about linking your movies here.
3. The Synchronize Screen pops up. Fill in your Connect User Name and Password.
4. Now click "Download from Connect".
5. Done!

Now you have to tell Movie Collector which changes to your local software database (the one on your computer) you'd like to process. The intended changes are showed in that screen, and automatically checked.

• Green: Add. This movie will be added to your local database on your PC.
• Orange: Change. This movie will be changed in your collection (because you apparently changed some data of it in your online collection).
• Red: Remove. This movie will be removed from your local database on your PC.

Don't want some of these changes happening to your local database? Simply uncheck the box in front of the change.

Click "Download from Connect" to make the changes final on your online account.
