Adding and Editing Games
Creating your Database
Before adding the first Game to your collection, you should start your own database.Three easy steps:
- Click File > New Database.
- Save your database by clicking: File > Save Database
- Name your database, e.g. "My Games" and click Save.
Adding your first Game
By Title Search
So, how do you add that first Game? It couldn't be easier.
First, click the Add Games Automatically button:
This opens the Add Games Automatically screen.
In this screen, adding a game just takes another two easy steps:
- Enter a title (e.g. "Red Alert"), choose a platform and click Search Now. Game Collector will now search our online game database for games that match the entered title.
- Check the box next to your Game from the Search Results and click Add Selected to add the game to your database.
By Barcode Scanning
Want to get organized super fast? Then simply scan the barcode of your DVD or Blu-Ray (you'll need one of our inexpensive barcode scanners...).
Here's how that works:
- Step 1. Scan the barcode
- Step 2. Click Add Selected.
- Step 3. You're done!
Editing Game Details
When you want to edit a Game's Details, like add additional crew members, change the physical location of where your game is stored or add a personal note, you need the Edit Game Screen.- Select a game from your list
- Click the Edit Game button on the toolbar (it's the joystick with the pencil).
- Just browse through the different tabs and see what information can be added and edited.
- When done, hit the OK button and watch the Details panel change to reflect the changes you made.
