Update File Links
Game Collector takes good care of your collection and it's images. You know it's true. It's really easy to maintain the links to your images in good shape, even when you move your images to another drive on your computer (or to an external hard disk, for example).
By default, Game Collector saves your images in the
C:\(My) Documents\Game Collector\Images folder.
Thumbnails are automatically generated by Game Collector and are saved in the
C:\(My) Documents\Game Collector\Images
Although it is possible to save the images for your collection in different folders and or locations (for example on an external hard disk), we strongly recommend keeping your images in one and the same folder, preferably in the default location.
Images
After you've moved (some) images, you might still be able to see the thumbnails in your main view of Game Collector, but no large images. Game Collector can automatically link back all missing images with a few clicks.- Click Tools > Maintenance > Update File Links
- In the Update File Links Screen, click Browse and select the folder that contains your images. Game Collector will automatically scan subfolders of the selected folder, too. When you're not sure where you moved your images to, you can have Game Collector search your whole computer. Handy!
- Click the Search button, followed by Update
- And, well, that's pretty much all there's to it. Thumbnails will be re-generated for the newly linked images files and your collection'll look just swell again.
