The Ruins (2008)

Pre-med university student Jeff (Jonathan Tucker) and his beautiful girlfriend Amy (Jena Malone) are among a group of college students who decide to vacation at an archeological dig in Coba. There they enjoy the beautiful land as well as the weather, and meet up with various tourists from around the world. One of the tourists, Mathias (Joe Anderson), a young Greek man has lost his brother and asks the group for their help. They journey out into the jungle braving the heat and pests until they come upon an ancient Mayan village. The young people are ordered to leave immediately, but they do not obey and come upon Mayan ruins that will behold for them a fate much more terrifying than death alone.
