The Power of One

P. K. (Stephen Dorff) is a young and curious English boy growing up in South Africa. Early in his childhood Peekay was abandoned by his family and adopted by a German professor named Doc (Armin Mueller-Stahl), who teaches P. K. to perfect his piano playing. With the onset of World War II comes the imprisonment of Doc, who fails to register as a foreigner living in the country. P. K. visits Doc often in jail and comes to be friends with another inmate named Geel Piet (Morgan Freeman). Piet teaches P. K. the sweet science of boxing and a strange myth about a unifying force that can unite all people. Keeping in mind this myth, P. K. grows to become an anti-Apartheid activist in South Africa.
