The Hive (2008)

Thanks to alien intervention, ants now have even more power on earth. They can perform both high level thinking and have physical strength. Bill (Tom Wopat) is one of a team that goes to an island to deal with this before it becomes even scarier. The intervention team learns these ants are highly intelligent, even smarter than they are. Since these scientists think ants live in “The Hive,” rather than the colony of most ants, and that is a sure sign the humans are overmatched. Other tip-offs that the world may be in serious trouble include the ants’ ability to transform into a giant human fist to knock down doors. Worst of all scenarios, the ants may be able to build and use computers. It’s enough to make the skin crawl.
