Plot

The movie Saam Gaang Yi encompasses three different stories; the first of which is called Dumplings. Mei (Bai Ling) portrays an eccentric cook who claims to have a recipe for dumplings that has special properties. Mrs. Lee (Miriam Yeung) is an aging actress wanting to regain her youth and reclaim her husband’s affections but soon finds that the dumplings have more in them than she bargained for. The second segment, called Cut is about a famous movie director (Byung-Hun Lee) and his wife (Hye-Jeong Kang). The director has finished up a scene from his most recent film and returned home to find an unwelcomed guest (Lim Won-Hee) there. Secrets are revealed as the guest exacts his revenge and only one final act will end the torture. The last segment is called Box. The central character Kyoko (Kyoko Hasegawa) is shrouded in mystery and a painful past. She is burdened by the memory of an awful accident involving her sister when they were 10 while dancing for her father Yoshii (Atsuro Watabe) in his vaudeville act. Flashes of present and past blend in this story of a tortured writer and her past and what truly happened on that fateful day.
