Plot

In the swamps of Louisiana, Beaux Dupuis (Johnathon Schaech) runs the family bait shop with the help of his mentally disabled brother Pemon (Frederick Koehler). Their mother is long gone and their father is a worthless drunk. Beaux dreams of escaping from the daily routine of caring for his brother and working with the smelly dead bait by marrying his sweetheart, Marie-Louise (Tamara Braun). When she unexpectedly elopes with the deputy, (Jeremy Davidson) he is stunned. Suddenly, livestock around the area is being found dead. The deputy, who has always hated the family for some unknown reason, works to pin the blame on Pemon. Even though Beaux secretly resents his brother, he feels he must defend him even if it means he must resort to violence.
