Les Visiteurs (1993)

A knight in medieval Europe, Sir Godefroy (Jean Reno) saves the king from being killed and thus is given the hand of Princess Frenegade (Valerie Lemercier) in marriage. But when Godefroy goes to fetch his fetching bride-to-be he accidentally shoots and kills the king, having mistaken him for a wild beast in the woods. Having killed Frenegade's father, he avows to never marry as punishment for his crime. He meets a sorcerer who advises the knight that he could send him back into the past so he might undo his killing of the king. But by mistake, the warlock transports Sir Godefroy along with the knight's loyal male servant Jacquasse (Christian Clavier) into modern-day France. "Les Visiteurs" are completely perplexed by all the 20th century conveniences unimaginable in their own 12th century. They are shocked at various inventions like motor vehicles, telephones, and ovens. They have a hard time figuring out how to get food because they see all these items in plastic wrap which people buy in grocery stores instead of hunting for their food with bows and arrows. While these mideivel visitors try their best to adjust to their new surroundings, they desperately try to figure out a way to get back to where they come from.
