Ike: Countdown to D-Day is a made for TV movie about what most would agree, was America’s most tumultuous time. General Eisenhower was one of only 5 five star general to ever lead an American army. In fact, during operation: overlord, the invasion of Normandy, France, Ike was the ‘Supreme Allied Commander’ in command of all allied forces in the world! The film is a biography and chronological account of the events leading up to the largest military even the world has ever seen. Millions of soldiers mobilized with a single word, a word that would begin a continental and global was that would cost the lives of over 12 million young men. All of it was resting on Ike Eisenhower’s shoulders. How would he, or even should he issue such an order. The events, obviously peak with the order, and in the invasion.
