Enduring Love (2004)

This film is a tale of obsession, stalking, and harassment. It begins with a picnic, which is disrupted by a drifting hot air balloon with passengers in distress. Several men on the ground, complete strangers to each other, rush to assist the passengers, but the wind works against them and one passenger dies. Later, a rescuer named Jed (Rhys Ifans) begins stalking another one, Joe (Daniel Craig), much to the dismay of Joe’s partner, Claire (Samantha Morton), because Jed thinks that he and Joe bonded with each other eternally while hanging onto the balloon and sharing a near-death experience together.
