Cidade dos Homens (2007)

Cidade dos Homens is the story of two friends, Acerola (Douglas Silva) and Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha) who as they approach manhood seek to discover the truth about their respective fathers. As they dig through information about the men, they discover that their fathers were involved with the Rio de Janeiro drug wars, and moreover were enemies because of it. They at first dismiss this information, but later both grow into the positions of power their fathers once held. They also become enemies and must face the horrors of gang life. The film concludes as the boys, now men begin to question the life that they have chosen and the way that it ended their friendship.
