Plot

The Big Trail is the story of Breck Coleman (John Wayne), a heroic pioneer who courageously leads a wagon train of settlers who have been inspired to conquer the West. Along the way, Breck and company encounter perils such as thunder storms, cliffs, desserts, as well as brutal onslaughts by Indians on their way to a new life and must put aside their individual differences and come together if they are to survive. Breck has his own agenda, tracking down the killer of a befriended trapper, but along the way his attention is diverted by love interest, Ruth (Marguerite Churchill). The Big Trail is compelling story of love, action, and adventure as well as an interesting portrayal of pioneer life.
