Rowdy on Left 4 Dead [Xbox 360], 04-01-2009
"Each level sees you and three other survivors looking for an exit while battling hordes of bloodthirsty zombies... This concept may sound simple - and maybe it is for the narrow minded - but once you dug a bit deeper you'll notice that Left 4 Dead has some very unique gameplay to offer you.
In order to succesfully proceed through the game, you have to work like a team. This means you'll swap useful items between each other, heal injured fellow survivors and keep the other ones covered while they are reloading, or fixing themselves up. I thinks it's safe to say Left 4 Dead looks, feels and plays like a true tribute to those zombie movies we all love. It's got fast moving zombies, a good thrilling storyline and perfect dosed gameplay.
Speaking of movies, this game is presented in such a manner that you actually feel like you are participating in one. This is best shown for example by the way the loading screen for each level is presented: a stunning movie poster shows your gamertag under the name of the survivor you've chosen to play. Haha, awesome!
Visually it's a combination of two other games made by Valve: the realistic look of Half Life 2 combinedd with the more cartoony style Team Fortress uses. Overall the game looks great and very detailed, and the facial expression and animation is brilliant. Just as you would expect from developer Valve as a matter of fact.
All in all Left 4 Dead is a brilliant game with only one minor flaw in my opinion. Being an avid FPS fanatic, I very much wish to have the possibility to zoom in a little on my enemies while tooting my guns. Unfortunately, apart from the hunting rifle, this option is absent here. Still, Left 4 Dead is very fun in singleplayer but absolutely excels in multiplayer and is therefore highly recommended!"

"This game is scary... But if you like creepy, close combat zombie killing then this is the game for you!"
