Description

The WarioWare team took an idea so wacky, it could only be made with the latest technology ... the Wii Remote. Wario and his pals learn fun, wacky moves after discovering a strange book and a mystical device called the Form Baton.

Players must clear fast-paced sets of microgames, changing the way they hold the Wii Remote each time. As they do, they’ll unlock more microgames and souvenirs.

  • WarioWare is back with a whole new set of moves. When Wario™ stumbles upon a strange device called a Form Baton, he and his friends use it to learn new moves that are as fun as they are wacky. With hundreds of microgames, this game is just as wild as you’d expect from the name WarioWare, but the game play has been revolutionized. Under Wario’s tutelage, and with the help of the Wii Remote, players will swing, spin and squat their way to victory.

  • With about 200 lightning-quick microgames and controls that range from scribbling to flailing, WarioWare: Smooth Moves takes interactive gaming to a whole new level. All players need is a Wii Remote and their best moves to be the champ.

  • With games that are as much fun to play as they are to WATCH people play, WarioWare: Smooth Moves brings the party to its feet. It’s hilarious for players and audiences alike.

"Wario is back, and he’s great! I do like this game. It can be completed pretty quick (story-mode if you want to call it that), but there’s more to it than just that. With over 20 ways to hold the controller and over 200 microgames this game will surely bring you some fun nights. I advise you to play it with friends, cause it looks pretty silly if you stand in your living room with your Wii-mote by your side trying to hoolahoop or squad up and down all by yourself for the whole world to look through your window.

I liked how each different way of holding the Wii-mote was explained in a very calm (and often funny) way. It contradicts the whole game. It’s stress, fast, what-do-I-have-to-do-ah-I-see, 5 seconds, faster, fastest. Not at all slow. You get less than 5 seconds to hold the Wii-mote in the right position, look at the screen, decide what you have to do and execute the move.

Although Wario Ware is very forgiving with certain microgames, if you don’t point correctly to the screen (and the Wii-mote doesn’t ‘see’ the screen), you will fail. Just keep it in mind, and you will be okay. With friends who play for the first time, this can be quite stressful. I didn’t like how I had to let each of my friends play through the whole story-mode so they could understand how to quickly hold the Wii-mote the right way. I can explain it, sure, but you just need the story-mode to train yourself and your friends for a battle. This brings me to the next issue I have with this game: I can’t skip the intro- and outro-movies of each of the levels. This sucks a-lot. I let my friends play story-mode so they understand everything, they read the onscreen instructions of each level, but they also have to watch the movies. Argh! Time-consuming!

When you play through the story-mode once, you unlock multiplayer-mode. When you play a multiplayer game, you unlock the next, and the next, and the next. There are a few multiplayer-games available so try to unlock them all. I liked darts (when you try it often, you will get that steady hand you need for it), and erm ‘running mates’ or something. The latter is a game where you hold the Wii-mote and your friend holds the nunchuck. You’re connected to each other on screen as well as in real life right now. Jumping over gaps covering as many meters as you can will earn you a highscore for other friends to beat. Of course there’s also the microgame versus mode. This one is split up into more modes as well. They’re basically the same (win micro-games to win the game), yet all have a different twist. Try ‘em, I didn’t care much about them.

So yeah this is a definite ‘have’ for your Wii collection. It will show you that the possibilities with the Wii-mote are pretty much endless. You can do everything with a Wii-mote ^^. The game just isn't very replayable. A 10 the first time around, a 3 the second time around. Just get it for kicks okay?"
