Description

Red Steel is an exclusive Revolution launch title that takes full advantage of the console's innovative controller and puts players directly into the action-packed first-person experience with the weapon in their hand – literally.

An engaging storyline unfolds as you learn that your fiancée has been kidnapped and her father – a Japanese mafia kingpin – murdered by a rival gang. The only way to save your loved one and defend your honor is to journey from Los Angeles to Japan and confront the Tokyo underworld.

By learning the ancient art of Japanese fighting with your katana and the focused precision of modern firearms, you will progress and adapt yourself to this foreign environment, where skills alone may not guarantee you victory.

  • Red Steel is the only original first-person action game built from the ground up for the Revolution.

  • Take full advantage of the Revolution controller, and control the action like never before. You'll replicate sword-fighting movements and eliminate enemies quickly by directly targeting and shooting them.

  • Execute deadly combo moves using multiple swords or choose from a variety of firearms for longer-range attacks.

  • Learn to harness your mental power to unleash powerful attacks in dire situations, and use the "focus system" to freeze time and effectively target several enemies at once.

  • Learn the art of Japanese fighting, and then use these skills to take out your enemies or gain their respect and loyalty by sparing them.

  • Challenge friends with various split-screen multiplayer modes to see who the real master is.

"Why oh why did I buy this? Oh I remember. The store didn't have anything else and I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to play anything but sports that weekend. So yeah I got this. I was actually looking forward to it for some time, until I saw the bad screens. I haven't been able to hook this game up via component yet, but I'm figuring there's not alot to save here. It's bad.

Graphics aside, it doesn't play to intuitive either. They all say it does, I don't think so. I'm not the guy that jumps behind his couch to take cover. I want to be able to choose if I'm gaming in a relax position, or if I want to stand up and point and take cover and what not. The aiming is bad. I've tried all different settings for sensitivity, but it just won't work. When I'm looking for a target (and in the process popping up my head) the enemy seems to have no problem at all putting a bullet into my eye at pinpoint precision. I can't be strafing the whole time cause I can't aim. Trust me, I've been playing this for a long time now, and I'm still not getting used to it. Aiming more precicely is stabbing the wii-mote to the front.. this is not very handy as you cant aim good like that. So you pull your hand back to aim, but it goes out of aimmode. ARGH. I'm getting frustrated even now while I'm typing this. I need Zelda-Z-Targetting, GIVE ME!

Sword fighting is very unnatural as well. It doesn't REALLY matter how you slice, it just has a few hits that your character can do.

I'm not going to play this for some time. I don't want to, I get frustrated. I think it has a good story in it, but I can't be bothered with it right now. I'm giving this a 2 out of 5. I'm sorry. No I'm not. I'm frustrated. I'm going to play some Zelda now, need my Z-target fix for today."
