Description

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PSP Handheld System is an all new epic adventure set in now classic Liberty City. Taking place three years prior to the events of Grand Theft Auto 3, you'll play as scorned wise guy Toni Cipriani who has just returned to Liberty City after having been forced into exile for killing a made man as a favor to mob boss Salvatore Leone. With the dust settled; the Leone's welcome Toni back and put him back to work as one of their toughest mob soldiers. Taking the best of the Grand Theft Auto universe, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories packs all the blazing action, jacking and epic urban adventure in the palm of your hand.

  • An astounding technical achievement, Liberty City Stories pushes the PSP to its absolute limit, resetting the publics understanding and expectations of what is possible on a hand held gaming system.

  • An all new story, all new features, all new missions, all new characters, all new voices, all new music—an entirely NEW game that follows Toni Cipriani's return to Liberty City, his involvement with the Leone's, and their bitter turf war against the rival gangs, the police force and the Mayors office.

  • THE FIRST EVER 3D MULTIPLAYER WIFI MODES IN A GRAND THEFT AUTO GAME! 7 modes for up to 6 players! Run and gun through the open city environments of all 3 islands of Liberty City!

  • Liberty City has been rebuilt from the ground up specifically for the PSP with a brand new game engine built by Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North, optimizing the texture density, resolution and particle effects. There are amazing reflections on cars, fantastic in-game physics, and impressive draw distances.

  • Freedom to play the game your way—play through the varied missions, or interact freely with the sprawling city.

  • Full-scale audio production, from an all-new licensed soundtrack played on changeable radio in-game radio stations, to all-new pedestrian speech, and all-new player speech.

"For the past 2,5 weeks I've been playing 'Liberty City Stories' and I must say that it really isn't different at all from the style of 'GTA III: Liberty City'. Ofcourse you have the same map and the same characters, but a totally new story-line.

I've made it to the second island now, and I think I've played all sorts of missions you'd find in the PS2 or PC versions as well. The story isn't done quickly, they really did put in alot of effort like they do with the normal GTA games.

I myself have always played GTA games on the PC, so I'm not 100 percent sure if this is a new feature, but the 'R'-shoulderbutton of the PSP makes you aim, and you can switch between aimed people to shoot them. This is a great feature, especially for those of you who, like me, have been playing GTA games on the PC! I mean, FPS on a console or handheld... it's not easy - compared to a mouse on the PC. But with this system it's alot easier. You can ofcourse also aim freely when you press down on the 4-point button whilst aiming.

They put in quite some radio-stations (talk, house, classic, rap, indi, pop and more) and there are also commercials and news updates. The news usually has to do with something you just did for a mission which I thought was funny.

If you think GTA is hard and you're a cheater, there are cheats available for this psp game, just check out the web :)

When I first started playing this game I thought the graphics weren't all that great (it seemed.. how do you say... erm, woozy or something), but now that I've been playing it alot I don't notice, or maybe I whined too much at the beginning.

The game is getting more and more difficult, and the missions are fun. I haven't steered a boat yet or flew in a helicopter or plane, and I'm also not sure if I will be able to. Then again, Vice City Stories is out too, I already have it sitting here waiting to be played, and I think I can fly a helicopter in that one :D

I'm giving this game a 5, because: it's GTA, it's more GTA, it's more GTA, it's GTA and in conclusion it's GTA. And GTA equals 'Excellent'. "
