Rowdy on God Hand [PlayStation 2], 23-01-2009
"Battling a newspaper-reading gorilla or being knocked out by dancing transvestites isn't something I tend to look for in my game... But once I got used to the crazy nature God Hand has to offer, I discovered a good old and nice looking sidescrolling / 3D beat 'm up videogame.
You get to battle more than enough different enemies, with an End Boss waiting at the end of each level. This sounds tedious, but really isn't. Besides battling the hordes of enemies, you can visit ingame stores, compete in an arena or try your luck in the casino. Plenty of gameplay variation!
There are tons of moves available and you will unlock even more while your progressing through the game. The special attacks can be activated by using Gene's Roulette Wheel. Push R1 to activate it, then push X and Gene performs a powerful attack that varies from kicking an enemy in the nuts, to sending him flying thanks to the mighty powerful Dragon Punch. It's as simple (and fun!) as that.
God Hand is by no means an easy game and can get quite frustrating at times, but thanks to the fluent controls it's also extremely satisfying to succesfully kick the crap out of all those enemies.
Recommended if you can stand the typical Japanese off-the-wall humour and are looking for an old-skool beat 'm up."
