Description
When Wario sees a television series about a thieving master of disguises, he dives through the TV screen, steals the thief's quick-change wand and takes over the whole show. Episode after episode, he breaks into exotic locations, like a luxury liner, watery ruins and an Egyptian pyramid!
- Draw Wario's eight disguises: By sketching a symbol on Wario, the player puts Wario in outfits that give him powers, such as Thief Wario's tackles and Cosmic Wario's laser blasts. The player also uses the stylus to wield the powers.
- Explore environments: Wario travels the globe in 10 missions that span nine exotic locations. The player must attack many enemies found in each location and also use Wario's disguises to get past puzzling obstacles.
- Play minigames to unlock chests: To pick the lock of each chest, the player must play one of eight stylus-driven minigames that grow more difficult as the game progresses.
Game storyline: Over the 10 episodes of "his" new TV show, Wario travels the globe in search of treasure to steal. Along the way, he discovers that there's a far greater prize to be had: an ancient artifact that grants wishes. Now if he can only find it before his rival, the master thief whose show (and powers of disguise) he's stolen.
How to progress through the game: Using the Thief Wario disguise, players run, high-jump and tackle their way through each episode. They'll need to switch to other disguises, frequently one after the other, to fight and puzzle through rooms full of obstacles and enemies. Players use buttons to run and jump while using the stylus to affect Wario and his environment, and they can watch the top screen map to keep their bearings in the levels.
At the start of the game, players will have only one disguise (Thief Wario) and will discover more as they proceed through the game. Players can return to previous episodes with the power to use all currently held disguises, making it possible to explore more areas and gather even more hidden treasures. Each episode ends in a boss fight that challenges players to use a variety of disguises to defeat it.
Characters: Wario is joined by his new sidekick, a wand that lets him change into eight different disguises. He's also pursued by the master thief who wants his wand back, and who still has plenty of high-tech tricks up his sleeve. The episodes also feature more characters in search of the ancient artifact, plus dozens of new creatures. Wario's friendly new wand helps him switch disguises. Players use the stylus to draw a key piece of each disguise onto Wario to activate the change. The wand explains how to sketch these quick-changes in a tutorial.
Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Wario opens locked treasure chests by completing one of eight random minigames that grow harder, faster and more complex as the game progresses. If the players succeed, they'll get the treasure, key item or disguise power-up found specifically in that chest. If the player fails, the chest remains locked, the chest spits out exploding bombs and the player may return to try the chest (with a different minigame) again.

"I need to update my views on this game a little bit.. I've finally completed the game and I must say that it got a bit better and I'm appreciating it more now than I did before. I will not upgrade my rating, but it's worth completing the game if you've actually bought it. Just use a walkthrough or guide from the internet if you can't find stuff.. It really helps, and it doesn't spoil anything.
So.. do you need to get this game? Maybe if it's cheap. Will you like it? Probably not, but eventually you may enjoy it. Lol."

"I completely agree with u guys, this game is poor. One day i sat at the computer thinking that i want a new game for my NDS. So i opened internet and started searching for new games, and there i spotted the Zelda:phantom hourglass and i thought: that looks cool. So i went into my game shops website and i saw that they had it, they had sat a prize on it too. And the reason i bought Wario:MoD was: I went in the game shop, hoping that Zelda:phantom hourglass was there. I checked the NDS games corner for a while and i still couldn't find it. So i asked a cashier: Do you know when Zelda:PH will release?
And she said: in October. I was all like O.o my under jaw was down on the floor. And i wanted a new NDS game badly so i bought Wario just coz it LOOKED fun. Now i'm at the 3:rd episode and i can't get the riddles so i don't wanna play that for a while. But i look forward to Zelda:PH and i can reccomend(spelling?) Mario Kart DS, Brothers In Arms DS and New Super Mario Bros. Hang in there all u people that's looking for a nice game, Zelda will be here. "

"PRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
PRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
PRRRR RR R R RRRRRRRRRRR RRRR RRRRRRRRT
or
Blablablablablabla something about a thief yada yada *insert nonsense story here*. That's how the game starts. With a big story which is boring to click through.
Why did I play this game? Well because it's Wario. If it were any other character other than a Ninty one, this game would've stayed shelved. Warioland was awesome, a very cool platformer, WarioWare are all great with fantastic original minigames. This game, apart from the story, is trying to do platforming and minigames in one.
You control wario with the ABXY buttons or the d-pad. Also, with your other hand you draw pictures around Wario to make him change in newly learned outfits with 'special' powers.
Bad: The platformer. A platformer is about figuring something out, going there, killing enemies, collecting coins and be on your merry way. Sometimes you need to find something. Good, I can live with that. But in this game, I've been searching for like half an hour sometimes to find something or figure something out to get on top somewhere getting that final chest with my prize. What's with that? I'm not stupid, I've been completing platformers since I don't know how long ago.
Bad: The minigames. When you find a chest, you can unlock the chest with your wand-friend by playing a minigame. Not nearly as original as WarioWare, not nearly as hard. For crying out loud, connecting dots from 1 to 20 creating a W or a moustache? Get out of here who thought of that? It's dull and it has nothing to do with the game. None of the minigames are fun, they're just there to annoy you. And they get repetitive.
Bad: The story. It makes no sense at all. Wario sees a masterthief on television, a program, he creates a helmet (with a stupid not so clever name) and jumps into the program. He gets the wand from the thief, with which he can change into different disguises. Now in order to get all rich and stuff, Wario needs to find more outfits and collect stones so he can collect the wish-stone and wish for all the money in the world. Whatever. I don’t care, and it’s surely not something they need to talk about for ages in-game.
I’ve played till level 4, and I got stuck after 40 minutes of playing that level. I’ve completed level 2 in over one hour, and level 3 also took me the better part of 1.5 hours. It’s just that at some point in the level you get stuck, and you go over all the rooms again to check out what you’ve missed. Also, it’s not playable for kids who can’t speak English, cause if the game is not in your language, you can’t answer the riddles asked in level 3 (6 questions from 20 random questions in total).
After I got stuck in level 4 I decided not to go back again and try everything out. Some of the costumes were okay (drawing your own hearts to regain health is a good one, and breathing fire is nice too) but this game overall is bad. Don’t buy it. Don’t rent it. Don’t even steal it. This game looks like it was made for DS, and then bought by Nintendo to make a quick buck. It’s a bad game ‘disguised’ in a Nintendo jacket. Barf.

"One word: annoying.
I must admit I didn't complete this game. In fact, I only played through the first episode. But I can't bring myself to play any further, this game is just too annoying.
The irritation begins as soon as you start the game, as you have to click through screen after screen of introductory TEXT. You know, the ones where the a few lines appear on screen letter by letter, with an annoying typewriter sound. But I persisted, hoping the game would soon start. And finally it did.
But during the game you keep getting the annoying text popups, some with parts of the story and a lot of explanatory texts. In between you get to walk for a few steps, or jump once or twice. You also learn how to draw symbols on the touch screen to make Wario change into his different disguises, e.g. draw a checkmark to change into his Purple Wind outfit, draw a sphere around his head to turn him into the astronaut character. Nice idea, but it doesn't work well. Even the simple checkmark takes a few tries each time before the game recognizes it. Drawing the sphere is even more annoying, as you have to draw it clockwise, otherwise it won't recognized at all.
Anyway, after tapping away about a few hundred text screens I finally reached the first boss stage. I didn't make it the first time, because I didn't understand how to hit him. No problem, just try again. But surprise, surprise, the game puts you back at the start of the Episode 1 area. So you have to walk through the entire area again to get to the boss and have your retry. Yes, you guessed it: annoying.
I did kill the boss but when Episode 2 started with lots of text screens again, I gave up. I play games for fun. This wasn't fun at all. Maybe I gave up too soon, maybe it gets better later. But I don't care, I can't be bothered to try again."
