Plot: The Ultimates and the Ultimate X-Men face off in the final confrontation in all of this. In the process, the leads designed to track Magneto home are dropped, and the Brotherhood avoids capture. The X-Men aren't quite that lucky, with one of their number getting captured by the government, and the rest going underground to regroup. At this point, Magneto's true plans and machinations are revealed.

Plot: The players are being positioned for a final confrontation, with Magneto and Xavier meeting and "negotiating" a deal, though both sides were really arranging for the other side to be followed back to their secret base. In the case of the X-Men, it's the Ultimates who were positioned to do the tracking.

Plot: The X-Men are in one of their safe houses, regrouping to track down Magneto. The contingent that went to the Savage Land in "Ultimate X-Men" returns a man short, which does little to help morale. Shortly after that, Magneto attacks the Triskelion, breaking in to punish Quicksilver for his betrayal and to eliminate all information the Ultimates had on the Brotherhood.

Plot: Following the events of "Ultimate X-Men #25," Magneto is free, and has retaken control of the Brotherhood of Mutants to continue moving his agenda forward. The Ultimates are called up by the government to deal with the threat, and though they have some success on that front, they're not too pleased with what they find when they go to the X-Men for reinforcements.
