Plot: In his release from the Phantom Zone, the Parasite manages to pull Mon-El through the rift just long enough to siphon a taste of his power. Saving it until Superman has left, he uses it to break free. But that taste is not enough. He plans to bring the Daxamite back to Earth to feed upon until he retains those abilities.

The Guardian addresses the Science Police, revealing his identity and origin to them in the wake of the Kryptonian crisis.

The mysterious new Flamebird and Nightwing meet with Jay Garrick to ask him a favor.

Superman learns from Mon-El that General Zod, his followers, and a number of other imprisoned Kryptonians are no longer present in the Phantom Zone. He travels to New Krypton, in orbit directly opposed from Earth, to see what Alura knows.

Plot: Superman is now a captive of the Insect Queen. Under the influence of tiny insects that have penetrated his brain, he's unable to muster the will to fight her, even as her bond with him shows him the horrors she plans to wreak on the Earth, transforming it into the new capital of her Empire as she spreads across the galaxy.
But Lana Lang has escaped. And despite the feelings of the LexCorp workers she's discovered evading the Insect Queen's minions, she's confident that if she can just help Clark snap out of it, their problems will be done.

Plot: In his efforts to prove to Superman that he's working against humanity's interests whenever he saves a life, Arion the sorcerer lures the Young Gods, children of the New Gods to Metropolis and sets them about 'playing' super-hero. After Superman and Lightray, the children's guardian, have gathered them together, Lightray insists that Clark take the night off to think about whatever has been bothering him. And what days of thought cannot answer, an action without thought can... Superman has chosen his path. But what will Arion think of it when he learns?

Superman (Kal-El / Clark Kent)

Plot: Superman struggles with Subjekt 17 as he tries to save the Kazakh soldiers in the area endangered by their battle. As the battle rages, it becomes apparent to Clark that Subjekt 17 isn't a mindless brute, but a reasoning alien, much like himself. Callie Llewellyn finds the records room of the old Soviet base that Subjekt 17 was kept in, and reads the files detailing his origin. Like Clark, Subjekt 17 is an orphan trapped on Earth, but that's where the similarities end. The Soviet scientists that found his pregnant mother and took him upon his birth experimented upon him, seeking to control him, or use his own biology to develop their own super-soldiers.Faced with this reflection of his own existence, Superman has to try to walk a fine line between protecting humanity from Subjekt 17 while trying not to hurt him for all he has suffered through.

Superman (Kal-El / Clark Kent)

Plot: Clark Kent is flying to Kazakstan where an old friend, Dr. Callie Llewellyn is holding a press conference. She specifically requested Clark's presence, which particularly intrigues him. In truth, she requested Clark because of his close ties to Superman. The Kazakh government had found the remains of an old Soviet experiment, and she was brought in to try to determine what it was, and how it could be safely removed from the facility without awakening it. But in the middle of her research Subjekt 17 has awakened, and Clark must deal with it.And all of these things are viewed by Arion the Sorcerer from Paris in the 17th Century. And as he is apparently no longer alive in the 21st Century, he will just have to see what he can do about it from the past.
