Longtime fans of the character are tired of following convoluted events that force them to read dozens of different titles for fear of missing the tiniest snippet of story that explains what's going on. Even Bart and his friends find they're barely excited about comics anymore.

But Krusty, the new owner of the company that publishes Radioactive Man, is determined to make a comeback. He and the executive staff spend the night crafting a storyline that will make the character interesting and relevent to fans new and old. When they completely fail, he brings in somebody with marketing with a huge idea... that they refuse to publicize.

The intense curiosity sparks a frenzy for the new Radioactive Man comic, sight-unseen! But Bart and his friends are suddenly left wondering if the problem they face now is worse than the one it's supposed to fix.
