Plot: Having learned the truth of the betrayals by both her father and Atilla, Flavia Aetia dons her father's armor and leads the Prefect's legion back to Rome. Assuming the identity of Flavius Aetius, she attempts to persuade the Empress-Regent and the Senate to give her command of all of Rome's legions so that she can lead them against the Huns - but they are distrustful.

There are wheels in motion in the seat of the Orbis. The High Councillor has long coveted the Emperor's throne, and he won't allow Flavius Aetius to stand in his way.

Plot: With Flavia Aetia's help, Attila has seized control of the Huns. But he is not the ally she hoped he would be. In teaching him how to navigatte space without the assistance of the Priests, she has enabled him to sack dozens of worlds belonging to the Roman Orbis, including her own home. During his exile from the Huns, Atilla was able to obtain the locations of many of these worlds, and he is determined to see them all burned.

In shock over his attacks, Flavia refuses to see Attila. In an attempt to help her grieve, he relents and allows her to visit the ruins of her home. What she finds there shocks her. Her parents still live, and her father has regained governorship of their world. But she is declared a traitor, and accused of selling out the Orbis.

Her own father will see her executed for treason. Her only hope is that the Huns will come for her if Attila receives no word. But upon arriving he will find an entire Legion of Roman ships waiting.

Plot: The galactic Empire of the Roman Orbis has dominated the universe since time immemorial. But a new force has risen, approaching the Orbis from the uncharted wilds of the galaxy. The Huns have taken a small border world, and threaten to take more. The only thing keeping the Empire safe is that the coordinates of it's worlds are a closely guarded secret.

In tribute, to appease the Huns, a group of patricians is given over to be sacrificed to Kerka, the Hun's goddess. But one of the prisoners, the daughter to a Roman governor, emerges from the pile of corpses unharmed. Furthermore, Flava Aetia bears the face of the savage Hun's goddess. Declared as Kerka reborn, she is now become the living embodiment of their deity.

But one among the Huns is unsatisfied with taking Roman tribute. Attila, the King's son wants to sack the entire Orbis. And young Flava may give him precisely the leverage he needs to do it.
