Plot: Indigo-1 has carried Hal Jordan to Korugar, where he has met not only Sinestro, but also Carol Ferris, who once again wears the ring of the Star Sapphire. But black rings plague Korugar, just as they do every world in the universe. Black Lanterns in the form of Abin Sur and his sister haunt Hal and Sinestro.

Across the galaxy, Larfleeze's siege of the Blue Lanterns is brought to an end when the bodies of those he killed to create his Orange Lanterns are raised up. And Atrocius is reunited with the remaining Inverses of Ysmault.

Plot: Indigo-1 has removed Hal Jordan from Earth, teleporting him to Zamaron where the Star Sapphires are beset by Sinestro who seeks to free his imprisoned Corpsmen. Both sides have come under attack by the Black Lanterns currently sweeping through the Universe. But the infestation of the Black Lanterns proves to be too great for the small group to overturn themselves. Eventually, the doomed lovers who provide the Zamaron's central power battery with power are themselves raised as Black Lanterns, heralding the fall of Zamaron.

Indigo-1 once again teleports Hal, along with Carol Ferris and Sinestro. But this time, she takes them to Korugar, where Mongul's faction of the Sinestro Corps has set up a new home base after their failure on Daxam. Now Sinestro must defeat Mongul to reclaim sole control over the Sinestro Corps, and save his people from Mongul's tyranny.

Needing a weapon, Jordan uses the nearby Qwardian power rings. On Oa, the Guardians banish Ganthet and Sayd, claiming that they have fallen prey to emotion.Back on Qward, the Lost Lanterns find Ion being tortured by the Anti-Monitor. Before they can attack, Ke'haan is killed by the Anti-Monitor, enraging Hannu into attacking him and temporarily forcing him back. As Amon Sur arrives, he encounters Jordan and his comrades. Their battle is quickly joined by Sinestro and Parallax and while Jordan may have the strength to spark the yellow Qwardian rings, Sinestro shows him that he has no idea how to control them. The Lanterns are attacked by Sinestro and Parallax but are interrupted by the arrival of the surviving Lost Lanterns and Ion who, in turn, are pursued by the Anti-Monitor. The Lanterns escape and split up, returning to the positive matter universe with the Lost Lanterns and Ion heading for Oa while Jordan, Gardner and Stewart head to Earth.Sinestro sends Parallax on ahead as the Qwardians begin mobilising and the Guardians prepare to defend Oa. The first measure to defend them is to enable lethal force for the Green Lanterns against the Sinestro Corps. However, the Lantern Corps are gathered in the wrong place as Jordan and the others realise when thousands of Sinestro Corps members appear above Earth.
