Plot: The team make-up is pretty much as it was at the end of "Giant Sized Astonishing X-Men #1," though Colossus has opted out of the group and Storm has joined, at least for a while. The X-Men are called in to help out the San Francisco Police Department in solving a very unusual murder case. After examining the body, they learn that the victim was an artificially created mutant, forged in a matter invisible to Cerebra. What's more, they have a very good idea of where the killer is headed, and decide to cut him off before he reaches his destination.
