I was *this* close to selling my Wii hadn’t House of the Dead: OVERKILL been released. It’s actually the first game I bought in almost two years time, and that’s saying a lot.
While I enjoyed the previous installments in the House of the Dead serie, I didn’t exactly know what to expect from this one, except that it was going to be based on the over-the-top grindhouse-style movies we know from the seventies. A few months went by untill this game grabbed my attention once again; I noticed House of the Dead: OVERKILL was about to get a release soon! Sweet.
So when I visited a local games store last week, intending on buying Street Fighter IV for my Xbox 360, you can guess my reaction when I stumbled upon this cool looking box:

It contained both House of the Dead: OVERKILL and a matching big ass light gun. The rest as they say is history. I purchased it, played it and enjoyed it. Still am, by the way. This game is just plain fun, fun, fun!
While I forgive Nintendo for pooping out all those crappy, embarrassing videogames that are polluting the Wii market, I think it’s a bit typical to thank Sega (their previous arch-nemesis of all companies!) for finally giving us hardcore gamers a Wii title we can actually enjoy. Strange how things work out, isn’t it?

Completing the game unlocks the coop mode. Nice!
