2008 is almost over and what a great year it has been for us gamers. Time for a Top 5 list of the best games I’ve played this year.
I suggest you take a deep breath before reading the following text…
Mario Kart Wii, LittleBigPlanet, Fable 2, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Spore, Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Battlefield: Bad Company, Far Cry 2, Wii Fit, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Saints Row 2, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Soul Calibur IV, Ninja Gaiden 2, Tom Clancy’s EndWar, Grand Theft Auto IV, Gears of War 2, Patapon, World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King… and the list goes on and on.
So many great games were released this year, I guess it’s safe to assume that 2008 has been the best year so far. I didn’t thought I could make a selection out of all those classic titles. It took blood, sweat and tears but here it is:
***** My Personal Video Games Top 5 Of 2008 *****

When the original came out I ignored it actually, thinking it wasn’t my type of game. To much investigating to do, dull story line, cheap horror effects, not enough action. Yet when Condemned 2 came out in the beginning of this year I noticed just how great it looked. So great in fact that I wanted to try out the first game before getting started on the sequel. And guess what? it rocked! Both games aree under-appreciated gems if you ask me.

I’m still halfway through Gears of War 2 but it just oozes greatness. Graphics and sound are superb, multiplayer is great and bloody limbs are flying around. Most importantly: it doesn’t take itself too seriously. One helluva game!
3. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Star Wars + joining the Dark Side + throwing people around = Instant classic game. It played a lot like Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, my favorite Xbox title ever.

Terrific and exciting storyline, cool graphics and great overall atmosphere. Without question my favourite game of 2008…

…untill Far Cry 2 came out that is!
While it has its flaws (enemy A.I., respawning enemies), the open world gameplay is what I always longed for in a first person shooter. Truly outstanding graphics and scenery, a great open world to wander through, tons of different activities to do and plenty of things to blow up. It’s obvious: Far Cry 2 is my Game Of The Year.

you have been seriously drinking way to early today, what a WACKED list. Come on, FarCry 2 as #1?!?!?! I know you’re the only one who is going to have that as game of the year.
Rowdy! Why is everybody saying you’re on drugs and alcohol in the replies to your blogs? ![]()
Hahaha, don’t know Mark. Maybe I should cut down on coffee.
Oh, and I’m proud I’m the only one with Far Cry 2 listed as Game of the Year. Guess stubbornness goes a long way ![]()
