Left 4 Dead. It’s Going To Be Absolutely Friggin’ Awesome!

left-4-dead-hand.jpg I came across the demo for Left 4 Dead last week so I downloaded it, not exactly knowing what to expect besides that it’s a survival horror first person shooter made by Valve. Needless to say, it rocks!

If you check out the demo you’ll see that there are two levels available. I didn’t want to jump in a multiplayer game right away, because I wanted to learn the maps a bit first, so I started a singleplayer game instead. I ran through the two levels pretty fast and searched for a online multiplayer match. It was then when the fun really started.

 Left 4 Dead’s Four Protagonists

In Left 4 Dead you and three other human or computer controlled survivors are constantly under the attack of hordes of swarming zombies and “Boss Infected” mutants. The game feels and plays a lot like those fantastic zombie movies like 28 Weeks Later and Dawn of the Dead. Each scenario you start on sees you and your three fellow survivors helping each other out while battling hordes of The Infected.

There are a lot enemies swarming the streets and they are controlled by an A.I. that depends on the gamers abilities. So don’t expect to quickly complete this game because the gameplay gets tougher as you get better.Once you or a fellow survivor gets attacked and is left behind injured you can heal them. This takes a few seconds though and it’s important that the other survivors cover you for a few seconds.

You can also quickly hand over ammunition and medpacks during gameplay and it’s exactly this attention to detail what gives this game an even more realistic feel.

That’s some scary shit!

The graphics are good, but not quite as good when compared to recently released games though. But don’t let that stop you from buying this potentially brilliant game. It doesn’t matter actually; once you get into the game it grabs you anddoesn’t let go. It’s THAT good!

Check out the demo…if you dare!

left 4 dead is a drop from half life makers.it is not a good game.its boring.may it have a good graphics and good sound . but the problem persist it is aimless game!!!you have to run all the game like a crazy and the zoombi too.and you shoot them before they kill you . all the missions like that no any difference. so i think you will leave the game after two missions!!finally i really shocked after long time of waiting for this game!!

I’d like to know what you smoke to make such a topic title out of a mere average shooter game. Really come on now, are you blind, did you even play it? The graphics are totally outdated in this (besides the cutscenes), the guns we have all had them before, MANY TIMES. There is absolutely no story here, just go ahead and play single player and you’ll be bored to tears. The only thing this game has going is the 4 player coop and still that is unfinished! You walk through each other like the other person isn’t even there. There isn’t many voice overs in game, usually its just the same one repeating over and over if you shoot a buddy. There isn’t really a mapping system where you can find your friends, just an outline of them and still your looking all over the place to find them. As well this game is above and beyond the price range it should be. Seriously this should be a budget title for $19.99 with what they have done here, I’m completely disappointed in VALVE this time. Original Half Life 2 is light years ahead of this in originality. Yawn… the players are identical to what they are fighting its clear! Brainless people that just run and gun, button clickers.

So what is it your smoking cuz I want some if I can make a game like this say as what you do. I think I’ll fire up pacman after I take a hit and give it game of the f’n year!

I think it all comes down to a matter of taste.

I’m not much into games that offer multiplayer modes to be honest. When playing something like Call of Duty there are always one or two annoying people talking bullshit all the time for instance.

But not in Left 4 Dead. You can invite a few close friends and try to survive hordes of zombies madness, all longing for your flesh. Just like those zombie movies I really, really dig. Call me crazy ( and no, I don’t smoke :D ) but you really bond with your fellow gamers. You’re all in the same situation, helping each other out and trying to make it to the next safe-point. I’ve never had such an exciting experience in my Xbox Live multiplayer years so far.

It’s true that the storyline doesn’t appear to seem very deep and there are better looking games out there, but I think you miss the point on this shooter. It may look and play like an just above average shooter in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it just oozes replayability and offers sheer fun. But hey, that’s just my opinion! ;)
