Spider-Girl dies? Nah, that’s not really true. Don’t know if she’s going to die actually, I guess not, but the series Amazing Spider-Girl is canceled. Marvel told issue #30 will be the last Spider-Girl issue (ever?). It seems nobody wants Spider-Girl… And let’s face it: We already got a Spider-Man and a Spider-Woman. Enough is enough!
For those who don’t know: Spider-Girl is May ‘Mayday’ Parker, the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson. The whole series is set in an alternate futuristic universe: the MC2 universe, Marvel Comics 2 Universe. In this universe we also meet J2, Juggernaut’s son, Wild Thing, daughter of Wolverine and Electra and a bunch of Avengers called A-Next. But this universe is over now. I don’t we will hear a lot from this universe, now that Spider-Girl is also past time.
Anyway, the first run of Spider-Girl was canceled in 2006 at issue #100. And now, the second run will stop at #30 already. It’s sad, but it’s just like that. Sales drop, series stop. Let me post a few milestone Spider-Girl covers from the first and second run for the die-hard Spider-Girl fans, and some extra cool covers, all from our online db. Here we go. Girl power!

@Mark
You forget to mention Spider-Pig, the most powerful pig there is!
Ha! You don’t even know about Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham!

Spider-Girl’s first series was canceled a number of times, but fan support prevented that. It was only canceled at #100 to reboot it with a new #1.
Even if this cancellation doesn’t get reversed as in the past, Spider-Girl is planned to be rolled into Spider-Man Family. So, it’s not really the end for Spider-Girl or the MC2 universe. Spider-Girl has been the best Spider-family monthly for a while, so I wouldn’t count it out just yet.
