The Force Unleashed Gets Updated

swblog.JPGI bought Star Wars: The Force Unleashed a while ago now, and I’m still playing it every day. That’s saying something because I have a shitload of games lying around, each one just waiting patiently to get picked up by me. But it’s all about the choices you make, and right now Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is my numero uno.

As I mentioned in my review of the Xbox 360 version of The Force Unleashed here, it’s gameplay keeps getting better and better as you make progress in the game. Yesterday for example, I returned to the Raxus Prime level, and all of a sudden I stood eye to eye with a terrifying Imperial Star Destroyer. I won’t go into details that much, because I don’t want to spoil anything for you guys and gals who haven’t been there yet, but I absolutely loved the way things ended. Wow, what a rush that was! If you still don’t have this game in your collection yet, go out and buy it. Now!

Recently it was announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has become the fastest selling Star Wars game of all time, as 1.5 million copies had been sold in less than a week worldwide. Due to the immense succes of this game, additional copies have to get made and distributed to meet worldwide demand. That’s saying something if you consider the fact that initially there had already been made available more than 4 million copies by LucasArts. But the good news doesn’t stop here…

It was announced recently that there are two major updates coming for The Force Unleashed! The first update will include some extra costumes for you to choose from, enabling you to control either Ki-Adi-Mundi, Kit Fisto, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Luke Skywalker! Keep in mind that you’re still playing with- and controlling the basic Apprentice character model though.

Ki-Adi-Mundi and Kit Fisto at your service!

The other update will include a new single player mission which will take place in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where the Apprentice goes in search for more information about his father. Unfortunately there are no release dates or pricing details available at the moment yet. I hope both updates will be released soon though, as I’m nearly at the end of this great game!
