A few days ago at the Collectorz.com office we talked about Jessica Simpson. Don’t ask why. Everybody was hating on Jessica. And I was like: “She’s hot! How can you hate?” It seems nobody liked her acting skills and somebody even said she wasn’t hot. Later I promised Rowdy to create a Jessica Simpson blog, so, let’s blog about her.

I was thinking… What can I write about Jessica Simpson? I don’t know anything about her! So, I started checking google, wikipedia, IMDb, etc. And I found out she’s just three years older than me. She was born in 1980. She’s a pop singer and actress who “rose to fame in the late 1990s”, that’s what wikipedia says. So, she was pretty young when she became famous. She got a bunch of albums out that sold really good worldwide, not just in the USA. And she had this MTV reality show a few years ago, together with he ex-husband. Everybody who’s young and famous was already married & divorced and got something to do with reality tv, so it makes sense. Now that I think of it, I think I have seen this show a few times on the dutch edition of MTV. It was pretty lame.

She also appeared in a few movies. I have seen a part of the newest The Dukes Of Hazzard movie, but I haven’s seen anything else from her. When I check the average ratings on IMDb, I notice that her movies aren’t really the best movies ever created. 5.3/10… 4.7/10… 3.3/10… That’s no good news for Jessica. So, I guess indeed, like everybody at the office already told me, she’s isn’t the best actress in the world.

I also found this funny internet thingy ‘Who’s the hottest Jessica?’, starring Simpson, Biel and Alba. I have no idea if there’s a ‘winner’, but I think Jessica Alba is the most popular right now.

Anyway: Most people don’t like Jessica Simpson’s acting skills (if she got acting skills anyway), but a lot of people (I guess young hyped girls) do like her music. Still, besides acting and singing, I don’t understand how you can say she isn’t hot. It’s like when a girl says: “Justin Timberlake isn’t hot”. It doesn’t make sense.
