Every self-respecting video games collector wants to keep track of the most popular video games that are due for release soon, am I right? So as from now we will try to release a Video Games Release List every week.

The biggest game to be released this week has got to be Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, as it is being released on almost all game consoles available.

For those of you who lived under a rock, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed follows the story of Starkiller, a young man who is Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. His job? To boldly go where no man has ever gone before and hunt down and destroy the remaining Jedi. Now that’s a job you wont find at your local labour exchange!

The story takes place between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and gives the player the change to be the bad-guy for once.  I’ve had the chance to play both the Xbox Live Demo and the Playstation Portable’s retail version and from what I’ve seen so far I believe this to be an entertaining game. Having played and completed the Xbox Live Demo left me wanting for more, but when I got my greedy little hands on a full retail version for my PSP I was kind of dissapointed. Not because of the downfall in the graphics department but because the gameplay didn’t change that much. It was just a bit to much repetive hack ‘n slash action for me. Still, kicking the crap out of everyone with all these great bad ass Sith-powers remains quite fun actually. Check out the review here!

Another big name to be released this week is Rock Band 2 for the Xbox 360 (the PS3 version will be released 1 month later). From what I’ve heard this isn’t merely a sequel but more of an update. Still, it features more than 80 new songs, plus it has an Online World Tour mode on offer. Too bad we won’t be seeing it here in Europe for a long time though.
