I’m a huge fan of fighting games. Always have been, although I do prefer the classic side-scrolling-beat ‘m up over the head-to-head fighting game to be honest.

Here’s why: back in the days when I visited the arcades I’d rather spend my well earned money on coin-slurping machines that played Final Fight, Double Dragon or Vendetta than having my ass kicked while playing against another person on Street Fighter 2. I always tend to lose from opponents that were just hammering away on the buttons, not knowing what moves they actually pulled off. Arrhhhgg, very, very frustrating!

Things changed for me when Street Fighter 2 was to be released for the video game consoles. I broke my piggy bank, went out to my local games store and bought an import version for my Sega Megadrive as soon it was available, planning to learn each and every move for each and every character. From that moment I got hooked on this type of tournament-fighting game.

So you can pretty much imagine my reaction when my colleagues over here at Collectorz gave me a copy of Soulcalibur IV for my birthday last week. I’ve played it, completed it and it rocks! Check out the review here. Already got the game? Let us know what you think about it in our forum!
