Ooooh.. What a wonderful week I had! And the theme of last week was Bay-area Thrash!!!! The week started just like every average week, but then it went Thursday…. aaaaaaaaaarrrghh!! Thrashing like A maniac, for 2 days!

July 3rd Patronaat Haarlem.

The first band to kick of these two days of thrash, was the Dutch band Fuelblooded. Great Band, nice guys Check ‘m out!! Fuelblooded plays a mixture between Old-school Thrash en Melodic Death metal in the line of bands like Nevermore and Soilwork. I knew they had to do the sound check in less then 15 minutes.. but they sound pretty good, It was the first time I saw them perform live, and I was impressed! But this was not the band I was here for.. Second band of the evening.. Bay-Area heroes Death Angel, after they reunite in 2001, I’ve saw them perform for over 10 times! But still they kick ass! But this night the set was Extra long (OooooH Yesss!!) and they played all there classic tunes like “kill as One”, “Voracious Souls” and even (one of my personal favorites) “A Room With a View“. The only thing that disappoints me a little (they do that every time) They played the first 2 minutes of “The Ultra Violence” and they never finish this classic instrumental part of thrash metal. But overall.. once again Death Angel proved they still are one of the kings of the Bay-area Thrash scene. A Great evening, Great Bands and a great Metal-DJ (;) Me!!) playing all your favorite Thrash metal tunes before, between and after the Bands.

July 4th Dynamo Eindhoven

I was looking forward to this evening for a long long time, At last!!! A dream coming true, See one off my all-time favorite bands perform live in the legendary Dynamo Club!!! FORBIDDEN!!!!!!! The first band of this evening again “Fuelblooded” and again.. they ROCK!!! Must be a wonderful week for these guys to be the opening act, for two days, and for two legendary Thrash Metal bands!! I missed the second band of this evening (November’s Doom), It’s the first week off non smoking @ gigs here in Holland
so we had to inhale some nicotine, and off course some socializing in front off the venue!! After a couple off beers the time was finally there, ooh what a rush!! Forbidden only played songs from the first two Albums “Forbidden Evil” & “Twisted into Form” and luckily for me they played my favorite tune: “Follow me”, The band did a wonderful job here, the drumming was awesome (Mark Hernandez), The guitar was brilliant, after all these years it looked like they copy/paste the guitar solos right off the Album! And the Vocal performance of Russ Anderson was great!! he is getting a little older, and maybe he isn’t able to hit all the high notes.. But still he sounds great!!! An evening I will never forget! I saw Forbidden live, F#@$%Ck Yeah!!!!
