I shopped around before buying this program, and I'm pleased to report that it does what it says it does: it's an easy-to-use tool for cataloging your comics.
For the most part, it does a super job with superheroes (pun intended) and mainstream books. I've had to manually enter some of my more unusual comics (and a lot of my Archies/Gold Keys, etc.), but nobody can be expected to have everything. And the customer service is VERY good through their forums.
I highly recommend this program.

I have been looking for a good database program for my comic collection for a few years now. There were not many options for Mac, and the one that looked the most promising, was much to expensive. There was Comic Collector from Collectorz, but it was only available for Windows. When Collectorz first announced they were working on a Mac version about a year ago, I was very excited.

Finally last week, they released version 1 for Mac. After a few hiccups with build 1 and 2, build 3 has finally got things working and I have started adding my collection into my database. From what I have seen so far, it is well worth the $30 I paid! Once I have added most of my comics to my database, and had some time to play with it more, I will probably be paying the extra for the Pro edition and also getting the iPhone edition so I can take my collection with me.

I've spent the last hour or so adding comics to version 5, both manually and automatically and I've gotta say I'm REALLY loving the new version.
The new layout for the Add Comic window seems to flow a lot more smoothly IMO, with the new order of various fields in more logical places.
The new Vee Five templates are great, I really appreciate their clearer, cleaner appearance. As for Add Comics Automatically, the tree list makes things a lot easier to find the issues I'm after.
This is by far the best version of Comic Collector so far.

First off, I just want to say that I recently came back from the first ever Comic-Con in New Orleans, and you're iphone app helped me AMAZINGLY!
I was able to quickly pull up the list of my comics while browsing through stacks of comics and was able to find issues I didn't have without worrying about getting extra copies. Meanwhile, I laughed as other people were writing down issues on paper and trying to figure out what they had and didn't have. I even told people about this site and how easy it is to use and your iphone app.

Keep up the great work though guys and gals. Really love your stuff and look to be upgrading my comic collector software soon. I always get excited when I get an email from you guys, because it's not too often and it's always awesome news.

The online repository of comics is very comprehensible - I've found entries for every one of the 1000+ comics I've inputted thus far.

I've been using Comic Collector for a few years now and think it's a terrific program.
I have over 8,000 comics/ trades/ hardcovers in my collection and it's the best way, hands down, for cataloguing a collection of that size.

There was a web-site that "reviewed" three of the most popular comic collection software. They gave yours an overall 2.5 stars and Comic Base 4.5 stars.

Naturally, I downloaded the trial for the Comic Base. I used it for about 2 minutes and REMOVED the trial program from my computer. What a piece of s*~t! I guess the guy reviewing owns stock in Comic Base.

Maybe I didn't know how to use it but I approached both Comic Base and Collectorz the same; no idea how to use either and was completely impartial. Collectorz was a breeze to pick up and Comic Base could make a sober person drink themselves into debt.

Outstanding product... I'm having a blast. This is the first time in 25 years, that I can actually know (and find) what I have in my collection! I LOVE this program!

I found your site because I was looking for a comic database to sort my collection - currently around 8,700 - and ended up realising I needed the Music and Movie ones as well. I'd probably get the Books one as well but I've got so many DVDs to put in now that I've finally got round to properly starting on them, that I might not live long enough to get round to the books!!

Movie Collector has all the fields needed for Audio Adventures since they're basically films without pictures and, since I've now taken the program to the DVDs by putting that one on my laptop, is in the right place.

New Releases and Updates services are a brilliant addition which shows just how much you understand the people you're selling to. This will make it far easier to keep up to date because I don't have to take the comics to the computer or search every title individually.

Just wanted to say how happy I am with the latest update for Comic Collector. Being able to scan, add, and edit my comic book covers from Comic Collector is totally AWESOME! Now I no longer have to jump from application to application to add my covers to my file.

I have always wanted software even half as good as the program you put out and when I found Comic Collectorz, I was absolutely FLOORED. Truly the best for comics & magazines

I've tried a number of comic cataloging programs and this is the best for data entry, sorting and displaying, and searching. All fields are tallied when displayed, so you know exactly what is in your collection and in what issues. Program and data files are compact and fast. Documentation could be better, but it's easy to learn and support via email is quick.

After visiting your site and reading the messages posted there I downloaded the trial version. In less then 5 minutes I had entered 100 issues. I was very impressed with the ease of entry and the ability to add virtually all relevant information about the books that I needed.

My collection is around 15,000 books. I am very happy that I have this software to make the process of cataloging that much easier.
