Preparing for Import
With Comic Collector you can import a .csv or text list. Comic Collector's text import is limited to four fields: Series title, Issue #, Issue extension and publisher.
Your text/csv should look something like this:
Important: It is not possible to import any additional fields. Your text file must contain only these fields, and must also use the same order, i.e. title followed by issue # etc. After importing your text list you can update it with additional information from our central database (e.g. cover image, plot, cast, etc).
Importing
Here's how to import:
- Start Comic Collector
- Click: File > Import From > Text
- Click 'Browse' and locate your txt/csv file
- Set the text qualifiers and delimiters to match your text file
- Check the preview to ensure everything appears correctly
- Once complete, click OK to import the list

Updating your data
After importing you can retrieve more information from the Collectorz.com online Comic Database such as cover image, plot, cast, format etc. Here's how:
- Click Edit > Select All
- Click Edit > Update Comic(s) Automatically
- A message will appear asking you if you'd like to link your comics, click Yes.
- Comic Collector will now search our online database
- Results will be shown at the bottom of the screen
- Select a result form our database then click Update
Update Comics screen.
You can also click Search All to search all of your imported comics, then click Update All to update all comics in the list which have an exact match. If an exact match is not found in our central database, a list of results will be provided from which you can select the correct result.
