I've never wanted to write to a company thanking them for their product before (although I've been known to write a complaint or two!), but I'm so impressed with BOOK COLLECTOR that I had to do it!

Before discovering this program, I'd been toying with the idea of creating an Access database for my 1,200+ library of books, but I couldn't keep it simple enough to actually get started. I wanted cross-references, AND lots of categories and sub-categories, AND a method for keeping track of each book's location, AND a way to record my own synopses and notes, AND. . .well, I wanted it all.
The whole thing just seemed too much like work, so I gave up and did a google search for book inventories, and (gasp!) there you were!
I browsed through the many screenshots, read the FAQ's and testimonials, and I couldn't believe it!
It was as if you'd been reading my mind!
What impressed me even more was the fact that I used the support link to email a question about the program, and I got a super-fast response. I wasn't even a customer yet, but you took the time to answer me right away. That's an awfully good indication of the kind of support I'd enjoy once I actually purchased BOOK COLLECTOR.
So that's what I did, and now I'm hooked for life!

Not only is BOOK COLLECTOR exactly what I wanted (and then some), but it's fast, reliable, easy to use and (WOW!) stable. Ordinarily, I tend to lose interest in the repetitive process of entering information, but this program is actually fun to use!
In fact, I keep discovering more great features - like the ability to enter the websites for authors, publishers and so forth, and have an active, underlined hyperlink with each of their books. This is something I never would've thought to include in the database I was trying to plan! And that's just the most RECENT feature I've gotten excited about!

I'm over a quarter of the way through entering my books in BOOK COLLECTOR now, and even though my collections of DVD's and music CD's aren't nearly as large as my library of books, you can count on the fact that I'll be buying MUSIC COLLECTOR and MOVIE COLLECTOR in the near future.
Also, I have a large collection of stones and crystals, and while browsing your FAQ's, I got the idea to try out PHOTO COLLECTOR for keeping track of them. So, that another one of your apps I'll be needing! I simply cannot get over the versatility of these amazing programs! They're worth every penny!

I have the trial on both the movie and book and LOVE them! I have tried BUNCHES of free database programs for my collections and although some were fairly good, NONE of them has the ease of use AND the LOADS of OPTIONS of changing fields and field names.
Some other programs ARE able to change fields, but NOT with as many choices as you have and some won't let you NOT use certain default fields.

Your programs are VERY user-friendly!

I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the new changes in version 6.1.

My CueCat, which is very finicky, as I am sure you know, works much, much better with 6.1. Also my database loads so much quicker. It took me some time to get used to the new Add screen but I like it.

I have 528 books in my database. I guess that is small compared to a store but for a personal collection it is a lot. I use my program to refer to when I want to buy something, in order to make sure I haven't got it already.

I love the ability to change the fonts, too. Now it looks the way I want it to look.

Book Collectorz is so fantastic!

I've used it to create a library for our school. It acts as our card catalogue and it is wonderful! Its super easy for teachers to use, making finding books by subject a breeze. Its also easy to manage "checked out" books through its Loan feature. Its been quick and easy to add new books automatically or manually, and makes taking inventory a breeze.

I love that I can tag books by their topics to create easy reference themed lists for display; Poetry, Valentines Day, Feelings, ABCs, . . . . I am by no means a computer whiz, knowing only the "basics" on my Mac, but this program was easy to learn, modify for our needs, and teach to others. Their manual and online support are thorough, quick, and strait forward enough for even me to follow.

The school administration has been so impressed with how organized and slick looking this program is. It really makes me look like I'm doing way more than I actually am : )

The overall experience is simply too good to be true.
Last night, though I was under the weather with a sinus infection, I scanned another section of books from my library, came upstairs to the PC and unloaded all the info from my scanner into the book list I'm building. It's so easy even a sick person can do it!

My plan is to print Dewey labels for each book and organize accordingly. Any bibliophile loves to putter away time with his books, but Book Collector gives you more tools to putter with.

Someone will say to me, "Say, do you have something on acid rain?" With 2,000+ books, I've finally lost control of having each book at my fingertips. I can no longer retrieve its location from memory... Book Collector makes finding the book a fun process. A few clicks and it gives me Title, Author, Subject(s), and Dewey number.
Since everything is shelved by Dewey number, how easy is that?!

I have tried two other book collecting software solutions and Collectorz.com is so far advanced it doesn't warrant comparison. It has simply revolutionised book collecting with its tools and display capabilities.

As any modern book collector knows the dust wrapper is a key part of collecting and the ability to download, scan & edit then display dust wrappers is almost as evocative as handling the books.

I have printed the details of different genres of my collection for friends, they then have a reference document with a dust wrapper, synopsis, ISBN and publisher so that they can build their own collection.

I'm a pastor and have used Book Collector for years for my theological library. I also get a number of magazines and rather than keep the whole magazine I clip articles and then forget that I even have them.

I've now solved the mess of boxes of uncategorized clippings by printing a simple sequential numeric label and assigned it to the printed article or web clipping. Then into a three ring binders for shelf storage go the sequentially numbered articles and I use Book Collector to categorize and locate the searched-for article(s) for me. Not as slick as populating the database via a book ISBN look-up, but still extremely efficient. Thanks.

I downloaded the trial, then purchased after 15 minutes of testing. This is fabulous software ! It solved a big problem: I have and elderly mom. We have been buying books for her to read and she now has hundreds she has gone through. I want you to know I LOVE this program. I am currently a graduate student, studying to be an elementary teacher after 21 years in Law Enforcement.

I recently took a child's literature class where the professor urged us to begin collecting books, at least 1,000 of them for our own classroom library. I was concerned about tracking them and keeping records on them.

I started inputing the data on the books in the collectorz and found that I could put notes in any topics such as self-esteem, family, animals, etc. So when I need to find a book for a certain child's interest or need, I can do this with a simple search. I will also be able to successfully track my books as children "check them in and out."

I have told my professor, the author of our text book, Elementary Children's Literature about this program.

Using your program, I have been able to quickly and easily catalog all of the important information concerning the hundreds of books I currently own. Not only that, but I also have been able to track books not yet published by favorite authors, and books on loan to my friends.

I love the ability to sort on almost any field (author, title, genre), and the ability to sort on user defined fields (books I do not yet own). I love the ability to print lists of my books according to almost any criteria.

My son bought this program for me using his credit card and I am thrilled to death with it. 25 years of adding to my home library has resulted in my having to move twice to larger houses (this is true).

It will take me many weeks to enter all volumes, but I am having great fun doing it. I had seen other programs in book stores in San Francisco, but never one that was so user friendly and comprehensive. I love it!

The big problem has not been the database - I can manage that. The big problem is typing in detail information about thousands of books. Too boring!! Too mind-numbing!! Thanks very much for this program.

I originally found Book Collector on Google when I was trying to find a product that would relieve me of some of the data entry involved in cataloguing by doing a lookup on ISBN - at the time, I wasn't even sure such a thing even existed, but since all the information IS online, and there's a ton of products that do the same sort of thing for CDs via CDDB, I thought there SHOULD be.

Book Collector showed up as one of the tiny handful of products that COULD do such a thing, but none of them were free (the other hope I'd had ;-) ). I looked over the website and bookmarked it for later consideration. In the meantime, a friend was also trying to find software for me, and Book Collector came up for him on an online search; he emailed saying that even though it wasn't free, it looked so impressive that he thought I should at least give it a try.

So I downloaded it and tried it, and of course, had my credit card handy long before I'd hit the evaluation version's limit. I can't praise you enough for what a beautiful job you've done on this software - it's absolutely marvellous, and I already have at least one friend (potentially more) talked into purchasing it for themselves.
